  • I like it, but like with the red.....I gotta wonder why these are getting the scores and generating the revenue they are? Does the Emperor have no clothes?

This was nice. Medium yellow in the glass. But a muted nose. Vanilla cream and some fern on the nose?

Palate of citrus with good acidity but a bit woody on the end. Hard for me to justify the tariff on this one.

  • An almost perfect wine.

Pristine, crisp, light and full of depths and complexities, this wine is one for the ages. Light yellow of pure intensity and clarity. The word intensity is a good one to use for the wine - jaw dropping perfume on the bouquet of white peach, nectarine, ginger extract and honey. The theme continues on the body what beautiful acidity to keep the whole thing fresh and alive. Lovely minerality and honey notes to end the show which then closes out the circle with notes of ripe citrus and honeysuckle. What a ride.

Drink now (with decanting) or 15+ years from now.

  • After 1/2 hour softened into a waxy and quite luscious line and length but a bit of oxidisation already - which ive found is the plague of these wines - very inconsistent. So if this was a great bottle this could be 94, 92 is looking on its good side and ignoring the ox.

  • Tasted side by side with Chapoutier's 2015 Chante Alouette. Very different wines. This was richer, darker yellow. Alcohol was more present but not overwhelming. Beautiful nose emerged after decanting two hours. Lemon, petrol, almond and honey. The body is fuller with a slightly oily taste than the Chapoutier with less acidity but a much longer finish. Still very young with no tertiary flavours yet evident.

  • Salon Focofi Paris walkabout and dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. A good rather than great wine. Good balance, not too heavy but I think I will never be a fan of Rhone blanc.
