Medium straw color, looking mature. Meaty nose, with scents of oysters and roasted fowl, as well as some green vegetal aromas. The palate is similarly full-bodied, with a buttery texture and moderate acidity. This finishes long, with the residual flavor of baking spice. While not as mineral-driven as white wines from the Côte de Beaune, this is an elegant and balanced Chardonnay that suffers from none of the cloying, flabby oakiness often endemic to this varietal when it is made in the New World. Perfectly mature at the moment; a real pleasure to drink. Never had a bad Pahlmeyer before, and I still haven't.

jane drinks alot of pahlmeyer at home, and this didn't annoy me as much as the kongsgaard did the night before. probably because patina represented such a special occasion place. this was a really casual, social evening, and i decided not to worry about wine. still, this wine has become somewhat boring to me. maybe i have it too much. simple, moderate oak, medium body, decent acidity. next.
