Tasted double blind. I was quite impressed with this wine. Would never have guessed this to be from Friuli (didn‘t know they made such wines there). This was quite Bordeaux-esque in its nature with just a touch of extra sweetness on the palate. The thing I didn‘t like is the slight alcohol heat showing towards the finish.
TN: Intense minerality is at the core of the aroma profile. Additional notes of tobacco, herbs, mushrooms. Then comes a wave of ripe dark red and dark fruit, minerality. A bit too sweet. The structure is quite fine with velvety tannins, good acidity, fine texture. Probably a touch too sweet and a touch too alcoholic.
Decanting: No decanting needed.
