Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 80 points

  • Opened and decanted for a couple of hours on Christmas Day. Should have figured an '06 could be over the hill. The volatile acidity was powerful, almost smothering an undercurrent of cherry-soaked minerality and some barnyard funk. Beyond the VA issues, a dollop of ripe red cherry sat squarely in the mid palate, bounded by a little bit of (good) acidity. More of the barnyard came through, but compared to the VA problems it wasn't bad at all. Unimpressive wine and at $26, also overpriced. It went down the drain. Only reason I scored it is because some folks don't consider VA a flaw.

  • Popped and poured this evening. Dark ruby color, dense nose of red cherry fruit and drinking just fine thank you! Very nice and at its peak.
