  • Surprisingly deep in colour for a Nebbiolo at almost 20 years of age, only modest hints of amber at the rim. Beautiful and classic aromas of dark cherries with some core bitterness, dried rosebuds, and a hint of tar and smoke. Textbook Barolo nose. Sweet attack in the mouth, then the expected tannins, soon giving way to high acidity as well as some sweet, almost dried fruit in the vein of cherry liqueur. Dries out quite quickly, and leaves the aftertaste to be dominated by dry tones of dry wood, some tar and cold tea. After a s rather short while, the tea-dryness dominates completely. A well made wine, but should have had more fruit. Perhaps it was better ten years ago? I doubt it, as the wine is not very evolved. Drink up.

  • - Crimsom color with medium forming legs - Nose of tobacco, coffeeshop, chocolat, leather, with still subsiding dark red fruit and Well integratiedebat wood. Harmonic mouthfeeling with noble tannins, good acidity and remarkable length. Lastic impression.

  • I had written on the bottle to "open at least an hour before drinking" and what a difference that made. When I first poured it, it was thin, brown and alcoholic. Kept improving, and by the time we drank it with a simple but spectacular shrimp in fresh marinara sauce an hour and a half later, all the sharpness had gone. Still not terribly full-bodied, but smooth with good Barolo flavor and perfect with our meal. It's good to make notes on wine bottles!

  • Etter åpen flaske i tre dager begynner den å åpne seg. Neste flaske i 2014.

  • Pop and pour, no decant. Deep violet-red color with an amazing nose of fresh cut flowers (violets perhaps?) mixed with earth and blueberries. Medium bodied with a great balance of acidity, fruit, and tannins which started out pretty firm but did mellow after a couple of hours. We really enjoyed this wine. Probably needs just an hour or two in the decanter at this point to show best. One of the better Barolo I've had in quite some time.
