Agree with muddyboots below. After a 5+ hour decant - this wine is dense and rich with considerable grip but not drying. It seems like it needs another 5+ years to evolve or food to complement the style. Nicely done and a great value. Make sure to let this aerate. There were some off aromas that needed to blow off.

A wine made in pretty large quantity from younger vines. 14%. Easier going than the 2016. Full of Aglianico flavor - camphor, licorice, earth, dark fruits. Juicy, bright and fresh. Measured tannin - ripe with real grip but no dryness. I don't think Aglianico really translates well into a wine to be drunk young. I have the same issue with Nebbiolo. I would wait five years on this if you can, if not, decant a good while. It will be a good representation of what it is supposed to be at a very fair price.

Full of flavor. Still a little robust. Succulent ripe fruit. Grippy tannins. Only time required. Quite a lot....Aglianico needs time..
