Acker Merrall BYO (Sepia - Chicago IL): Showed absolutely nothing. Possibly flawed, possibly just old bad wine. I would have thought think was fake if there were any reason to create fake 1953 CDP.

Not everyday that I get to taste a 56 year old wine. Cloudy brick red in color with amber edges. Nose of toast and smoked meats. Nice dark cherry, raspberry and meaty palette. Smooth long finish. Initial TCA aromas after opening that were completely gone after an hour in the decanter. It opened up even further after a couple more hours. I'm disappointed that it was almost gone by then because it was just getting good. Impressive and delicious.

A delight to drink, still vibrant and alive! An inviting aroma of leather and meat with hints of slightly baked fruit. Hints of honey right when it hits your mouth accompanied by light red berries, almost sweet with a touch of pepper and leather to round it all off

(Clos Saint Jean Châteauneuf-du-Pape) Cloudy medium brick red color; smoky and sweet beef jus nose; tasty, tart cherry, raspberry and black cherry palate with spice; medium-plus finish

heat damaged. Interesting, since the first bottle was very good. The damage must have happened a long time ago.

vibrant with plenty of fruit and acidity remaining. Shockingly good.
