Somewhat tough to drink without air. The whole package was closed on day 1.
By day 2, the acidity shot forth and presented the black fruit atop a bed of softened tannins. Crushed wild flowers and baking spices round out the whole package. Finishes with a hint of rose water and crushed rock minerality.

Glassware: Grassl Cru Prep: Decant for an hour, followed over a couple days
Reduction with sour cherry and plum on the nose and palate at first. On the second night there are more focused and pleasant blackberry, black cherry, and lilac aromas. Nice core of black fruit and graphite on the palate, with some spice box and leather notes that linger on the finish. Juicy acids and fine grippy tannins, there is a slightly wild character to this wine juxtaposed with elegance. An interesting wine that should cellar well.

This site just exudes elegance. The wine hits that Chambolle style for me, and that’s a big plus. Earth and flowers on the nose. Structure isn’t overly potent here so it can be enjoyed quite young. 93pts.

2022 Walter Scott test drive (zoom): The nose is lush and aromatic already with notes of pomegranate, red cherries, raspberries, spice box, plums, red currants, violets, and some fresh herbs. There is good depth here, but it does lack some complexity and definition. The Medium bodied feel is plush and balanced with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium tannins. This is showing fairly well already, but something just seems to slightly lack that I can't put my finger on. It's entirely possible that it gets that joie de vivre with another 3-5+ years of aging, but this really isn't moving me like I'd have wanted or expected.

Walter Scott 2022 Vintage Zoom Tasting: Seemed to have a bit of everything on a very expressive nose. Very, very well rounded. The fruit was very pure, and the wine was extremely well balanced and rounded. Dark and red fruit are seamlessly integrated, with notes of baking spice. Coated the whole palate and hit every different tastebud. Medium acid and medium finish. Favorite Pinot of the night (barely beating the Sojeau and Koosah).
