Consumed over 2 days (stored in Somm du Vin), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium lemon-gold. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with aromas of steel, pear, apricot, licorice, and sage. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium body with a slightly creamy mouth-feel, medium+ intensity, 14.5% abv with developing flavors of apricot, lemon tart, and pear with a medium+ finish.
I like this wine - tropical, floral, with the oak fairly present but not overwhelming. 1-2 pts upside if the oak better integrates, I’ll try my next bottle in 1-2 yrs likely

Pale golden color, the wine gives off abundant aromas of tropical fruit like mango and pineapple, toasted nuts, along with saline notes. Quite nice.
The palate is lively and not like most typical CA Chards as there is no buttery flavors present. Instead, it provides delicate flavors of Asian pear, apricot, and green apple up front with earth, flint, and Meyer Lemon emerging on the long and expressive finish. The wine is not flabby at all with good acidity. All the flavors and textures are in great balance with nothing dominating the profile.
Not quite as good as the spectacular 2015, but another great effort here. Should also be good for medium term aging as these turn rather Chablis-like with some bottle age. Drink 2024-2030.

An excellent effort still youthful on day 2. Feels surprisingly lean for carrying 14.5% abv. Will likely benefit from 2-4 years of aging.
