Surprisingly restrained, but in a beautiful place right now. Elegant, lavender and blackberries on the nose and a light mouthfeel that is different from other CNDPs. No need to wait. Actually reminded me of a slightly more austere version of a SQN--beautiful fruit without any of the hard edges you sometimes can get in an old world wine.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS; Perrin Family (By JdB): Red and dark berries, sweet spices and good garrigue in the bouquet. On the palate juicy and ripe dark berries, licorice, oak and sweet spices. Still good and fresh acidity and tannin. Still plenty of future in this luxurious wine.

A magnificent exemplar of Chateauneuf de Pape: deep red-purple color with no sign of bricking; incredibly intense, fruity aroma of black cherries, plums and cinnamon spice; full and rich on the palate, with mild but ample tannins to preserve this wine for years to come, and a sweet, berry-like overlay that almost manages to disguise the alcohol (15%), which reveals itself in the fruity but very warm finish.

Spectacular, always so reliable. Caraffed 3 hours before drinking, and was great, but tasted even better in the evening, after 6-7 hours...

Perfect with lamb chops - chocolate, plus, garrigue.
