Community Tasting Notes (9) Avg Score: 89.4 points

  • Smells like honey, petrol, graham cracker, stone fruit, sour orange, and a touch of spice; nice complexity. Similar notes on the palate, honeyed, fairly intense; good balance between a moderate level of sweetness and tart acidity. Some minerality in the finish, with a bare touch of bitterness. Good stuff!

Drinking well on day 2. Good intensity; went well with Stilton.

  • Much more cut, nuance, and balance than our previous bottles. Rich, complex aromas of pineapple/apricot, petrol, cinnamon, and honey roasted nuts. The palate is lush, though well balanced as waves of ripe tropical and orchard fruit meet tangerine and lemon/lime citrus. Finishing citrus acidity lifts dried flowers, fallen pine, and white peach. Drink or Hold.

  • Rich aromas of candied, waxy orchard fruits, orange blossoms and cinnamon. The palate mirrors the nose and is a bit unrestrained, with thickly textured tropical fruits, vanilla bean, and honey leaving some acidity to be desired. The finish is more focused but a bit marred by heat, adding layered lemon/lime citrus and saline brine. Somewhat disappointing compared to other 2006 bottles. Perhaps this is in a closed phase? Hold. • Notes from day 1.
    Medium gold in color.
Nose of honey, lots of petrol, white flowers, apricots, minerals, and herbs.
Palate of petrol, apricot, honey, little floral, herb and minerals.
The finish was long in length and there was good acidity present, not high but enough to cut through the flavors of the palate.
Overall the wine was very enjoyable and expressive, always love the petrol of the Heymanns.
