Herbal aromas, with some spice, leather and hints of barbecue sauce. No fruit aromas until nearly 3 hours after decanting. Even then only a hint of cherry. A good wine for a cold winter evening.

55% Negrette, 45% Syrah, 13% alcohol. 3 hr double decant. Black hole dark in the glass. Violets and blackberry on the nose, with some herbal notes likely from the high percentage of Syrah. On the palate this is anything but fruit forward. Dark bitter chocolate, espresso, grilled herbs, slightly sanguine. Medium body, a bit of oak. Chalky tannins are nicely balanced by the acidity. This wine screams BBQ. Overall quite enjoyable and a nice change of pace from all the modern inexpensive BDX out there. If you give this 3-5 years those tannins will smooth out and this would be even better.

Alcohol forward, notes of leather and soft tannins. Great paired with red meat
