  • Deep bronze-gold.
The nose offers plentiful aromas of Islay (whisky) peat, smoke, vanilla pod, sorrel flower, red liquorice and acacia honey going towards honeysuckle.
Fabulous penetration of flavours on entry showing excellant concentration and fullish body. Hints of roasted meat sits with white flowers, fennel, cayenne spice, pears in honey and a long finish that adds a briny, mineral character. There isn't a heap of acidity, but the wine works so well, intriguing at every corner and with an underlying viscosity that adds complexity even if the wine is showing signs of ageing. Eclectic!

  • Terroir-istes International - France, Rhone Whites (Rodwell House): Deep straw colour with damp wood and floral aromas that show as peach, hazelnut, wood smoke and cat fur! Intriguing...
Fairly full-bodied, the entry has a viscosity, some richness with flavours of peach kernel and gentle perfume. There is plenty here even if the finish was a little shorter than expected.
