  • A very round, complete Sangiovese, modeled on Brunello di Montalcino, drinkable now. At this point, the flavors are a battle between the fruit, oak and alcohol to see which emerges dominant. Yet I know the three will come together in a few years to yield something greater than the components. There is an intriguing grapiness that is unlike Sangiovese, which makes me think that a touch of Aglianico, which Noceto also produces, has been added to the cuvée. If there's a fault, it's that the wine is a tad soft, unlike traditional Brunellos. Yet the fruit + alcohol + modest tannins should keep it going for a while.
