Very young, but very tasty - room to grow in bottle. Great color of ruby red and purple. Very distinct nose, over ripe blueberries, heavy liquorice and subtle cut grass - this has some heat on nose. Smooth up front and gains a big acidic, tannic punch on backend. Red fruit with smoke notes and ripe black currants on front. Added green pepper spices with hints of cedar and butter dark chocolate to go with berries tannins. Coats mouth on finish and hands for a while on back of palate. This has plenty of time in bottle, but fun with its complexity

PnP. Aromas of blueberry, blackberry, cherry and raspberry, sage and anise. Slightly sweet. Loaded with flavor, but not into the jammy character. Blueberry, blackberry, cherry, raspberry, slight herbal and anise flavors. Soft tannins in a long finish. Showing really well now, but should only improve over the next few years.

Very vibrant, spice and mineral driven. The Carignan is evident and adds to the complexity. Love the new, lighter weight bottles too. We had the Bedrock Carlisle over two nights and it was opulent and lush. The Papera is the opposite bookend. Rooted in minerality, acidity, deep complexity. A joy to drink. Drink or hold.

Already a touch more tannic than the bottle two months ago. Maybe starting to close down a bit. The early bottles were just wild with flavor.

Seems to have dialed up another notch from our bottle in early December of ‘23. Intense spicy fruit. It goes to 11. Just a great wine.
