  • Baby brain is messing with my ability to concentrate and take detailed mental notes on wine, so I will do my best here.

Nose is highly aromatic and fairly original? Strongest aroma I call "black raspberry" that I have smelled to date, as well as blackberry and other dark fruits I can't quite make out. Nose is otherwise quite herbal and savoury, with licorice root standing out as well as mint and potting soil.

Palate is quite fresh but with a little thickness from the tannins, giving the wine a chewy texture but not an unpleasant one. Flavours lean herbal again, creating the effect of a vegetal darkness in the mouth. Red peppery too? Finish is medium and a bit bitter as others have noted, but I like bitterness more than most.

Overall an acquired taste, and one improved with food. I love this kind of wine but may not be for all.

  • Well balanced fruity wine. The color is pretty Dark for its style, which is slightly tense without being too tannic. Not very complex. Dark cherry lead the way. Can be paired with a large spectrum of dishes as long as its not grilled red meat. I would have given a 88, since this is a very good product, but the price is too high for this kind of wine…

  • Pop and pour. Stemless Hotel wine glass.
Nice dark color. Nose offers savory notes of herbs and wet dark earth. Good dark fruited profile; shows some oak density.
Leans towards a Syrah with that earthy profile and black olives.
    Slight bitterness on the finish.
Opens up with time so that bitter note dissipates.
Enjoyable albeit a fairly simple wine.

Great value. A bit tertiary even if very young. Concentrated, barolo feel with more fruit and less tannins.
