Served slightly chilled from restaurant cellar. Lots of dark fruit, still a good balance of tannins and acidity. Paired with two plates - duck served with raspberries, and ham served with black-eyed peas. Perfect with both plates. Ample fruit shone through with the berries and duck. The fruitiness of the wine also cut through the salty earthiness of the ham and beans. This is an excellent food wine. I need to get a bottle for sipping. My guess is that this wine will stand well on its own. Terrific American version of a CdP.

Popped and poured. Very dense palate - lots of concentrated dark fruit. Slightly light on the tannins despite this, but nice acidity. Medium+ body, with almost a little too much sweetness/ripeness. Tastes a little too new - I'd sit on this for awhile. $23

A nose of zesty dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color. A smooth, full bodied Syrah, with blackberry, currants, wild berry, some pepper and spice, long finish, good juice.

dark purple with clear edge at the rim. blackberry on the nose with slight hint of briar and oak providing interesting nuances. nice blackberry fruit upfront with fine tannins nice integrated with smooth finish. Surprised at how smoothly this drank and enjoyable it was for the price. EAsily overlooked among other syrah offerings in this price range in my opinion. well done.

Held up fairly well. Color still dark red without browning. Good fruit. Tannins are resolved but finish is a little more acidic than it should be.
