  • Definitely on the back 40 of life. Probably on the last 20 of that. Having said that, the tannins are resolved yet this wine isn't all just fruit. There is still some structure to it and while it is big fruit it isn't over the top. Definitely a worthwhile experience and I'd love to be able to benchmark this against a 96 and an 02. Given the vagaries of availability of this wine in the US, not likely, but c'est la vie. Drink em if ya got em!

  • Very mild and soft one without bombing feel. Full and rich taste of dark plum blackberry and mocha. Oak element integrated so well. After breathing for 4+ hours, it became more complicated, more fruity, thicker body, evolving some spices, vanilla and violet aroma. Good acidity in middle. No potential for further aging. Drink now.

  • Black peppercorns, ripe currants and sweet sour plum juice. Nicely integrated oak. A wine true to its nature as a hyper powered big aussie cult Shiraz.
