SQN & BBQ (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Small glass, brief note from memory. I understand that some people enjoy this style of wine, but I find it rather monstrous and it's not for me at all. Both vintages.

Concentrated and rich, backed by impressive substance. Reminiscent of many 2003 and 2007 CdPs, if fruitier. The wine has held together well, and is highly enjoyable. Probably best to drink over the next few years. 92-93.
Dark fruit and creosote/toasted oak char on the nose. Very richly textured palate with a velvety mouth feel and presence. Grapey and not very evolved at 13 years, no hurry to drink up.

CT Offsite: Day 1 Tasting: Wow, over the top, high octane, dark, ripe, massive, smoky, grilled plum. 15.9% and showing every bit of it. Amazing power.

I have found that 2005 Alban wines age well and have been spectacular showing spice, earthiness, and deep fruit! Pandora is one of my favorites!
