@ 12 years on this wine has definitely improved over time. Quite nice now with a loss of some of that funk from the grenache. Still very rich and full bodied with no evidence of age. Should last another decade easily.

Dark ruby color. Simply killer nose has aromas of tar, herbs, flowers, sweet black fruits and raspberries. Palate has a cornucopia of flavors - olive, menthol, tar, red fruit and toast. Strong, bright mid-palate leads into a long peppery, herbal finish. Hitting all cylinders.

Wineflock - Wow wines (Nanda's): Group #5, My #1 - Opaque soft red/purple color. Nice spicy red cherry nose with lovely briar and rose petal notes. Mmmn, lovely red cassis and chambourd on the palate with ooziing spice and a complex black pepper finish. Perfectly balanced too. A great showing for this, sadly my last, bottle.

Drinking in it's window at this point I think. Stunning aroma of bacon fat, spice and pepper (a la Cote Rotie). Nice and balaced black fruit on the palate, but light on its feet. You won't find the huge black fruit asphalt concentration that you see in younger Albans (and hence the lower scores), but to me this is a much more approachable wine. Lovely.
