Ripe fruit, apples, trending peaches. Spicy notes too, ginger, mouthfilling. Not really budging over a few days open! Real tension between mouthfilling texture and firm acidity. Riesling’s burly Austrian cousin.
Didn’t budge over several days open, probably got some years ahead of it

N….fresh ripe green apple/Granny Smith flesh, a hint of wet metal minerals. A touch of quince skin. Seductive and interesting.
C….light gold, solid medium body.
T….big round ripe flavours with a lovely balance of acid and minerals with just a touch of soft white tannins. Elegant and balanced at 5 yrs old. Classy glass of white wine. The dry side of medium on the scale. Very good GV from a very good season. Enough length and enough intensity of flavour. Lovely flavours of roasted almonds and quince and white/yellow stone fruit, all ripe yet balanced with a convenient acidity. Feels mature at 5 yrs.
QPR….costs £25.00 but worth every penny. Will buy more.

Very nice value for a larger more intense style of gruner. Has the characteristic white pepper note, plenty of body and fruit to support, and paired very well with roast sea bass and then aged cheddar to finish.

Not my thing: ripe fruit salad with a touch of spritz, medium bodied and round with some bitter minerality on the finish which saves it somewhat. Not much acidity- quite flat and sweet.
