  • Another bretty bottle

  • I got a bad first impression of this wine due to the synthetic stopper (wines under this type of closure simply don't last in my experience). Unfortunately it didn't get any better from there, as upon pouring a glass I was greeted with a strong whiff of brett. No further note.

  • Wow - what a nose! Beautiful red/dark fruits with a strong dose of cow manure (brett) - which is great. Even a hint of exotic spice. The color of the wine is a lovely deep garnet on the rim and almost black at the core. Popped it open and drank w/ a slight chill on it (this wine is not tannic but has great acidic balance). The wine coats the mouth and leaves a lip-smacking finish. I'm a big fan of this wine - well made, balanced, tasty and natural.

  • It was a decent deal for $13.99, though I expected more from a combination of two of my favorite varietals - those being Cabernet Franc and Malbec. It opens with a nose that immediately made me think of a new vinyl liner for a swimming pool. Upon swirling it, the scent of strawberries is released, along with raspberries to a lesser extent. It has a medium body with little in the way of taste complexity. In the mouth I think of unripe blackberries and again, raspberries. The tannins in this are soft, yet very pleasing. The finish has a combination of leather, some subtle coffee grounds and cherry tree sap.

While this wine is decent, I think I'm more apt to go back to the specific varietal rather than going for a blend like this again. That said, it's not a bad wine for $13.99, but I've had better in this price range.

  • Bright purple.Nose of oak and a presence of inflatable vinyl pool toys, strawberries coming through. Full body, soft mouthfeel, gentle fine tannins. Concentrated raspberries, a bit one dimensional. A long but single note finish with a taste of tar. 13$ paid was a fair price.
