  • Pop n pour at Bistro Vendôme, $60 on the list - horrific value. Dark ruby toward purple core. The nose is dominated by minerals, galets, raspberry and peppery spice. Medium bodied with lively acidity. This proved a solid, if somewhat simple, food wine. The fruitiness of the Grenache constantly weaves about, but a bit of a reductive quality holds the freshness back. Solid finish, grippy tannins. Honest value at approx $20, drink thru 2012.

  • Deep red, fine nose of cool fruit, but also some noticable oak. Good fruit, but maybe a little overextracted. Fine tannins, but a bit dry in the finish
