An interesting and unique wine. As one previous poster mentioned, this wine needs to breath and needs to be consumed at just cooler than cellar temp. Upon opening, a nose of sweaty moldy socks meets bread dough....in a good way. In time, the movie theater popcorn butter smell starts to come out, and then strong whiffs of white flowers. Impressively, the nose is never hot and always dynamic and shapeshifting.
Obviously flaw in color as the golden yellow hue is slighty hazy. With time in the glass, the wine goes from doughy citrus to starfruit and pre-ripe pineapple...acidity is alive, balanced, focused and perfectly pitched and the oak is now well integrated. I'd have to think that drinking this wine 2 years ago was a challenge because the oak, while proper, was significant.
Best and most interesting Chard I've had in some time....and certainly worthy of the $25 bones it cost (clearance rack). Tremendous with food (Rich SE Asian inspired egg rice dish). I'll be looking to pick up another of the 06 or 07.

K didn't love. A bit much in terms of buttered popcorn and oak. I liked better.
