Color is brick red and clear. Medium body. Decanted. Initially very expressive nose of floral notes. Gave way to earthy nose of dark red fruit, leather, and briar. Mouth feel was on the thin side without much lasting power. Still some nice acidity, but tannins are about non-existant. I think we are at the end of life for this wine. Still a nice bottle but a bit delicate at this stage.
Outstanding nose (90 pts), but a somewhat disappointing palate (86) that seems to be past its prime. I do not have a lot of experience with Rioja, so I'm not too sure what to think of this one. From 375ml.
So, so drinkable. It has bright red fruit supported by zippy acidity. Very soft tannins...almost no bitterness at all. It also has this pleasant earthiness. Just a nice weekday wine that over-delivers.
