  • So good! Still going strong, what a successful vintage for this wine. Red plums, blackberry, full bodied, good extraction, not too big and quite harmonious.

  • Popped and poured into glass and let sit for about 30 minutes.
Nice youthful showing last night. This wine still has a ways to go. Showed very nice fruit, texture and length. Well done.
    Would buy again.

  • Holy crap this is good. This was an old Gary Vaynerchuk Wine Library TV pick-up that's been in the cellar awhile. Patience was rewarded - a world class Bordeaux blend with luscious fruit, impeccable balance and intriguing hints of herbs and earth.

  • It looks like it's been nearly 7 years since I last tasted this wine. It was back in '08 that I first tried it, which led to my purchasing a case and a half to store off. So the question is, am I glad I did. That's complicated. I can't deny this wine is incredibly balanced, smooth, full flavored and intense. It's everything I think a cult Napa Red blend might try to be, but at a quarter the price. What's rough for me here on this first glass is just how sweet this is coming across. Sweet as in sugar. It's just so heady, and I suppose my tastes (at least ATM) are desirous for something more dirt and earth driven. I spent the day digging around in dust and field, loam and bird droppings -- all that sort of thing. I can still feel the residue when I rub finger to thumb, and now I want to taste it in this wine; but it's not to be found. Man, but what a massive mid-palate this has. That used to be so important to me. I'm sure this will be a perfect pull to impress a dinner party. What this wouldn't do for a plate of red meat or stew with carrots.. beef marrow. Look to my previous notes if you want my impressions more specific to the wines tasting notes...it's just mellowed and smoothened out a good deal, that without having lost any of its stuffing.

  • Liquor on the nose when first opened. Took about 2 hours after decanting to settle down. Drinking well now

(Pomum Shya Red Wine Yakima Valley) A fascinating nose. Almost herbal. Almost spice. A light dusting of high spice and an intriguing black olive component show through at times. Rich, dark cherry aromas come to the fore late. A drop dead gorgeous taste that is rich and opulent. Mouth coating with a zing of acidity. Beautifully balanced with cranberry emerging on the finish. 59% Cabernet; 27% Merlot; 10% Cab Franc; 3% Malbec; 1% Petit Verdot. 14.7% alcohol. 300 cases produced.

(Pomum Shaya Red) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-an amazing explosion of cranberry & pomegranate with an unbelievable cedar & Asian spice component; very pretty; very complex; a subtle fish component that I find extremely interesting; TASTE-big mouthfeel; reminds me of a classic "Right Bank" Bordeaux w/ accelerated fruit & excitement; it's just an downright exciting bottle of wine w/ real complexity & elegance (like a Royal Family member who just can chill); it's a gorgeous effort; great fruit; so good; this is "light out" stuff; great complexity; gets me really exited about Washington State (Yakima Valley); the elegance of this wine is unparalleled; only 275 cases produced, so get on this mailing list; this is really AMAZING wine; for $34 this is an absolute steal; back-end chocolate flavors; pair w/ any kind of meat; will open up more in 5-7 years and can last 10+ years easy; this is gorgeous and has charisma too; there's something about the focus & intensity of this wine; if you're lucky enough to score some of this, put this away for 2-3 years and I promise you that you will like it a lot; KILLER balance; GV-95
