Meh. A wine I enjoyed when it was young had a distinct vinegary smell and a shriveled taste lacking any depth or nuance. Could barely pucker through a single glass. Will try again after overnight sit. Ok day 2 this is substantially better. Bone dry.
This complex red Bordeaux wine deserves aeration in a decanter for several hours before serving and is fit for a feast. Anything short is a mistake. Has a good balance of acid, fruit, tannin and alcohol, though can leave a slight hot sensation on the palate in the finish. Pairs well with walnuts, Humboldt Fog, and braised short ribs. There’s a lot of cellar life left on this vintage. HOLD

Very dark color. Nicely balanced, and finish was smooth. Plenty of tannin, but fruit was not very evident. Even so, went great with lamb.
