  • A bit smoky, nice midtaste, but at the end the age comes trough with sharp acidity.

  • Colour between dark yellow and green. Quite heavy in the nose.

In the mouth a little aggressive but pleasing. Lively acidity, citrus fruits and in the background some notes between sweetness and rotten semillon.

  • Medium gold color. Drank with lunch at Le Saint Julien. The nose is nice and has earth, minerals, a hint of petrol, pears, lemon, citrus. The palate shows very nice acidity with lemon, citrus, mineral, and good length.

  • OK....reading previous notes here, I am thinking I had an off bottle. I don't know what kind of flaw this would be, but I am used to the kind of experiences that others have listed here. Soft, tropical, with a bit of citrus and lemon to wake the senses. Well not in this bottle. You get the lovely tropical, floral notes on the nose and as it hits the front of the tongue, but from the mid palate to the back of the throat was an astringent, bitter, sour mess of grapefruit, lemon and lime. And not just a little...I mean BIG time, like taking a bit out of each of those fruits all at one time. Then the weird thing is that the creamy, tropical flavors come back on the finish. Really strange experience here, but it won't keep me away. The 04 of this was absolutely stunning and I hope my next bottle of the 07 will show better. No score at this time.

EDIT: Day 2 - There was about half the bottle left over from last night and thank god that astringent, sour aspect had subsided considerably. Still pretty bitter on the mid palate, but those lovely, creamy tropical fruits and lemon skin flavors were aloud to come out to play finally. Don't know if this is a bad bottle or a bad vintage, but at the price it is worth trying again.
