Aroma of oak notes, apples, some citrus fruit although muted. Taste is clearly influenced by the French oak contact, perhaps a bit over done. There is just enough acidity and fruit to act as a foil to the oak, thus OK balance. Interesting play it had with the citrus-mango topping to the halibut this evening. Nice overall, just nice.

(Gambal Alex Bourgogne Chardonnay) Bottled in August. More concentrated on the nose, mainly showing some melon character. This medium bodied wine shows nice acidity and a good burst of concentration in the mid-palate. Only about 10% new oak, but you still get some of the flavour in the finish. Well made Bourgogne

I was afraid I waited too long but no. White fruit aromas; apples and pears with a hint of vanilla. Light and crisp on the palate.

A light nose with some wild flowers and oatmeal. The palate is much better, there is good balance and acid with persistent length.
