A typical Médoc, a touch rustic, but in a good way. Red plums, cassis and wet earth on the nose. Gentle tannins and a light tartness. My last bottle of a case of 6. All in all a good effort for the vintage.

Surprisingly alive for an 11 year old Medoc. Gorgeous classic bordeaux nose of cigar box, black cherry and leather. A bit tannic and tough on the palate on pop and pour, there seems to be some currant and red raspberry fruit lurking beneath the initial shell. I'll give it a few hours and update. Nice value for under $20 if the fruit can poke through.

Quick note: almost no fruit to begin with, just cedar, forest, smoke, minerals. Then voilet and blueberries entered the nose starting about 60 minutes in. Quite a few holes in the delivery to palate but drinkable. Tannins and acid are in a good place. You can do better for $15 USD in 2017.
Average.

Ruby with a darker core. Red fruits and a bit of barnyard on the nose that blows off with more airtime. Round and quite elegant on the palate with a mineral aspect. The tannins have softened considerably since our last bottle two years ago. Medium finish. This is ready now but no rush to drink. Still going strong on day two.

Completely different from my last bottle (which came as a nice surprise). This time the wine was totally disjointed with very harsh tannins and almost vingegar-like characterstics. It improved a bit after 3 hours in the decanter, revealing notes of undergrowth and plums. However, the elements never really came together and the tannins did not soften a bit.
