  this wine is in a great place right now; this is the way California cabs used to be made; at 20 years it still had some nice fruit; the earthiness and herbaceous qualities are there; even a little spice. could go longer, but why wait

  I had one more bottle than I thought I did, and I'm only sorry I don't have more. This was excellent -- menthol and camphor on the nose; on the palate, cherry, currant, plum, and a touch of black pepper, with good acidity and a medium to long finish. Very good value for the money.

  What a nice, complete wine at a great point! Deep dark color, no hint of age. On the nose, dark fruit and spice notes, and more of the same on the palate, with great spicy fruit notes and crisp finish. A moderately large scale wine, but well balanced in every sense. Nothing out of proportion and good with food and by itself after dinner. Wish I had more. Well done, Fred.

  Beautiful nose of menthol, bandaid, and a faint barnyard scent. On the palate, red and black berries, currants, and very fine sweet tannins. This was my last bottle, and I think it is right at the beginning of its peak. In combination with some filet mignon, this was excellent.

  Looks quite youthful. Incredible nose of dark sweet fruit and hint of cigar. Fairly intense palate of black cherry, plum, and dark berries, with hint of cedar and tobacco. Long finish. This has years to go.
