Deep caramel in color, this wine is reminiscent of the raisin-like character of a Pedro Ximenez Sherry, albeit with a much lower alcohol level. Showing well now. Hold or drink.

After brief aeration this had a nose of stunning beauty and youth. I would not have guessed 2003 since the balance was impeccable and it did not seem too confit though it might be relatively low on botrytis. Lovely wine that will probably keep for several decades.

Friends over for dinner (My place): Dark, golden straw to amber color. Intense, heavy aromas of exotic fruit like pineapples and mangos entwined with dried fruit, apricots and sultana raisins over restrained mineral notes. Syrupy mouth feel with oily viscosity and loads of residual sugar, fairly well balanced with acidity, which keeps this wine from becoming cloying and vulgar. The taste is of overripe exotic fruits, loads of nuances of pineapples, mangos and papayas. It remains very primary all the way over the long finish.

Drank over 4 days. Now need to find more of that...sweet enough to act as dessert, but not too cloying.
