Sunday Brown Bag Tasting: 2008 Meursault Les Perrières (Neil's): Citrus aromas dominate, underlying hint of dried grass. Apple and citrus flavors with bright acidity, picking up a minerally quality with time in the glass. Lengthy finish. Guessed white Bordeaux.

Nose is mostly tertiary, yet stays in the medium category. Fully developed, this is the way its supposed to be, its not going to get any better. Not much fruit in the nose, earthy, vegetal.
Palate is dry, maybe medium + acidity -- medium, so acidity is there but not crazy. No tannin, oh yeah, its got alcohol -- its medium. This is medium body to me for a semillon.
Flavor is at least medium + or high, and sure that disagrees with my nose assesment but damn, 90% of the population would reject this wine because of its taste. Spicy, secondary, teritary aromas. Medium length.
Its very good because it doesn't taste average and boring Les notes. I'd pay $20 for it, drink now. Ready to drink.

Still alive. Paired with lobster. Not my favorite. But still nice. Citrus fruits and pleasant tannins

Second Sunday Group: Produttori del Barbaresco Riservas (L's): Light yellow color. Sweet apple notes dominate the bouquet and palate. A little woody on the palate, with honeysuckle notes as well. Fairly simple and straightforward.

This bottle is past prime. Still pleasant but not nearly as vibrant.
