  • In decanter for an hour. (Old habit; have no idea if reciotos are supposed to be decanted). Almost black. On the nose strawberry jam. This was our first ever recioto, so we were totally unprepared for the mouth explosion we were about to experience. This is wonderful stuff! A not excessive sweetness and taste kaleidoscope that seemed to grow in your mouth, and go on forever. Almost like a cherry liqueur, but less sweet and only 12,5 % alcohol.

I hadn't done my homework, so the wine was served too warm, but that didn't seem to matter. Also, tried manchego with it but that had to be put back in the fridge, so we drank it alone, which it can take very well. It would probably go well with desserts also.

Iren found it a tad too sweet and was willing to award it a measly 84... I gave it 92 (but didn't rate it on account of the discrepancy) - I'm a sucker for sweet stuff...

  • Sweet, but not too sweet, a real treat to Crepé with confitures

  • Cherry, nuts and hints of oak on the nose. Sweet and well balanced Recioto. Average quality, but for the price it is reasonably good.
