Verticals of BC wines - Burrowing Owl Cab Sauv, Black Hills Nota Bene, Osoyoos Larsose Grand Vin (Sharon & Guy's): Clear pale cherry core of moderate intensity to the slightly browning edge - showing some development. Deep rich and dense nose of dark cherry and black olive along with some herbal notes of moderate intensity. Dry with sweet cherry fruit and vanilla/oaky flavours - mouthfilling and palate coating. Development is starting to show. Mod+ (bright) acidity and tannin (ripe) with moderate body and alcohol - well balanced and aging well. Moderate length finish with good tannic structure and the flavours carried by the acidity. This is a very well made wine just starting to develop tertiary notes. Natural cork.

14% alc Think Napa without all that coconut gooey oak. Powerful in structure yet rich with ripe on the palate, deep dark and serious with dense grippy tannins that were as aggressive as any and similar to napa's young Cabs. Classic currants, black plums and dry cocoa. This took some time to open up so we decanted and sipped slowly. Within and hour this really opened up and revealed a more seamless complexity. The tannins remained pretty tight over the following two hours. This wine is obviously very young but it shows so much promise for a 5-8 year drinking window. Pretty mega....and an excellent purchase.

Very dark colour. Hint hot, cabernet fruit forward nose. Great flavours for a very (!) young wine. Medium tannins on the palate, a hint spicy with a very long finish. Better 2007 onwards!

Singing right now. Rich sweet cassis, burnt chocolate, pickle juice. Sweet, well-integrated tannins. Long lively finish. Mid-Atlantic in style.

Lovely dark complex, fruit nose. Unfortunately, wine not as interesting but worth the adventure.
