  • A bit oaky to start then integrated. Dark fruits. Cassis. Blackberries. A bit of raspberries. Dark very ripe blueberries? Loamy. Wet roses. Prunes. Ripe plums. Started out fruity and then matures into a Bordeaux-ish beast. Not overly extracted. Crusted limestone. Cardamon. A bit of white pepper. A great combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. A Bordeaux style wine with a California pedigree. Very sophisticated for a Napa wine. Still has a few years left.
We were at the vineyard some years ago and bought the last case of the 2003. Great people. While there we tasted the 2005 in barrel. Glad to have this wine today.

  • Had to pop one to see how it was. The wine benefitted quite a bit from air and was better on day 2. Not an over the top fruit bomb. Very nice but wait at least a year on the others.
