Burgundy Dinner with Jeanne Marie de Champs (Sepia - Chicago IL): Stone fruit aromas that are also slightly floral. Apple flavors with some candied apple character. Good acidity and minerality. This welll textured wine is still getting better. Probably just entering its peak drinking window around now.

At first and extremely thin and weedy nose - perhaps a touch too cold? Certainly not right on the palate - very acidic and angular. As it warmed up a slight hint of premox on the finish. Within half an hour, thoroughly shot. A wine with no redeeming features. Sadly I have 5 more.
This my third premoxed 2002 on the trot. The nightmare continues.

(Chateau de la Maltroye Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Grandes Ruchottes") The most minerally nose so far of the Maltroye '02 Chassagne's. Incredibly concentrated and stylish with tremendous grip and way long on the finish. Brilliant delineation. So much depth.

Premoxed. You could get faint glimpses of the breed and scale of what this was supposed to be, but it clearly wasn't there. A bummer.

I thought at the onset that this would be ok, but it just got worse and worse. Premature oxidation. wiki
