I may have waited a bit too long to drink this Forchini. The cork showed some bleeding and the wine appeared cloudy. Nevertheless, these conditions did not interfere with our appreciation of the wine. I would suggest drinking in the near term.

Magenta in color. 15% ABV. Brambly red fruits, black licorice and pepper on the nose. Great balance with medium body and medium acidity. Super juicy. Raspberry liqueur, strawberry compote and white pepper on the palate. Elegant, claret style Zinfandel that belies the ABV on the label. Nicely done. Ready to drink.

Decanted upon arrival as a few specks of cork fell in…very dark with notes of dark raisins, dust and some dark red cherries…not what I expected (or wanted) from this bottle…poor showing.

Lighter in color than a typical Zin -- like burnt blood orange. Looks more like a pinot. Nose of cedar and fermented strawberry. Tasted nothing like the nose. Mellow, more light berry fruit, woodsy in a nice way. Easy drinking with or without food. Drink now.
