  • This was just a killer wine! One of the best Napa Cabs I have ever had. Great fruit without being jammy, dark dark purple. Nice vanilla on the nose, full rich but subtle body, soft tannin finish. I would love to hunt this wine down at almost any price!!

  • Great classic Napa Cab. Dark, dark purple. Great fruit, but hidden by soft tannins. I would definitely decant my next bottle 3 hours, as this was only beginning to hit its stride at 2.5 hour after opening.

  • The wine is packed with flavor. Dark fruit flavors along with dark chocolate. Tannins have fully matured and still have a nice grip while the fruits are ripe and call out to be enjoyed. This 2007 is ready to go and is drinking beautifully. Some age but undeniably a California Cab. Had with a N.Y. Strip steak. Just wonderful.

  • 4PM. Tannins are definitely present, front and center for a 2007. Just poured into a decanter and keeping my fingers crossed that a 3-hour decant will suffice.

  • Seems like it was hard for any Napa Valley producer not to produce a high quality Cabernet Sauvignon in 2007. Most of the upper echelon ones are hitting full stride currently and appear to have the stuffing to drink well for at least another 5-7 years, and possibly beyond. I’ve enjoyed later vintages of the Vineyard 7&8, and this meets and exceeds all expectations!

Still displaying a youthful appearance of a deep purple color with a full body texture, this is still “in development” showing pronounced and generous aromas and flavors of cassis, black currant, blackberry, black cherry, black plum, vanilla oak, black coffee, notes of bell pepper, and black dried earth. Lots of gritty tannin and acid in the background providing a solid structural foundation to support further cellaring. No problem standing up to a chargrilled, medium rare ribeye steak. Long, long finish. Not seeing any signs of the fruit turning from fresh black to dried red, nor structure fading; leads me to believe this has a good 5-7 years of cellaring potential. Personal experience the last three years leads me to believe the 2007 Napa Cabs are just starting to hit full stride.
