NSMFOW May--Burgundy (The Grapevine, Salem, MA): Ruby color. Nose of cherry, some earth. Palate of red cherry, mild earthiness, spice. Less lush, more structured than the Volnay in the flight. Less open today than the Volnay but overall a better wine. More typically Burgundian.

Soulful, balanced, delicious and classic Burgundy. Much better than I expected.

Good bouquet, fruit and finish. Did not need a lot of breathing time to enjoy. Wish I had more of this one. Good value for the money.

Poured thru an aerator to open up the wine. Wine was smooth however not enough fruit for me. Finish got better after about 30 minutes.

Terlato Portfolio Tasting (Fine's Cellar, Scottsdale): Cherry, rose petals and violets. Very nice balance. Well integrated oak. Elegant finish.
