Dark; powerful, dense; punchy fruit, concentrated, deep, full bodied. Can be drunk now or the next 5 years. Previous vintages more impressive. Lacks finesse, impressive but needs flavour packed food.

Definitely darker and deeper color than that in regular Campofiorin. Ripe and a tad sweet nose of strawberries and blueberries with some distant vanilla oak and a hint of raisins that nicely accentuate the darker aromas. Very soft and round mouthfeel, though held together by lively acidity and some tannic bitterness. Compared to the tight and tart Campofiorin, Brolo seems a lot more juicier, even a bit jammier when compared side-by-side, even though the overall feeling is still very dry. Black- and blueberry jam, raisins, leather, tight tart cherries and warm spiciness on the palate. A touch of vanilla in the back of mouth. Even at the age of 6 years, the tannins are quite grippy and obvious; the wine seems to require some food on its side. Tart, acid-driven and bitter finish that lingers on for quite some time on the tongue. This is definitely a lot juicier and more complex than the regular Campofiorin, but at 21,50€ quite pricey for an IGT-"Ripasso". Though a very pleasant and nicely complex Italian red, it still could be a little less expensive to be of good QPR. Age it for 3-5 years more and it'll be worth the money.

Colour ruby, legs medium. Smells like raisin, fig and vanilla. Full-bodied, raisin, a bit sweet but spicy, oak, leather, soft tannins. Long finish. Good with medium steak, might go even with pasta.
