  Apple crisp nose with a little plastic, unctuous heavy palate with apricot and apple preserves, ending with interesting salinity

  Day 2 - Not much change. Big pungent grain aroma, along with honey and dried fruit. Lacking in freshness, despite a decent amount of acidity; sort of like the syrup from canned fruit. But it is enjoyable nonetheless, at least with a suitable foil like cinnamon graham crackers slathered with peanut butter.

  Pronounced raisin-like nose, and syrup on the palate. It could well be white juice concentrate with some alcohol in it. Monolithic, unchanging, lacking complexity and freshness, and no acid to speak of. Concentrated for sure, like a handful of golden raisins, but otherwise completely uninteresting and flat. Have one more bottle and am hoping that a pairing with cheeses will help it show a little better.

  Solid gold color. On the nose this has a surprisingly concentrated aroma of salted caramel and toast in addition to the expected honey and candied lemon notes. The concentration persist on the succulent palate, where it is joined by robust but pleasantly integrated acidity. In its entirety, this wine is viscous, lavish, forceful, and delicious. A pleasure now, but with ample time to continue maturing.
