  • Deep dark inky purple, still with a touch of youth.
Big plummy nose laden with damsons and freshened with a touch of blackberry. Liquorice and a rich dark chocolatiness too, with a fleeting touch of oaky vanilla.
Immediately impressive on the attack. Big, plush, full black fruit fill the mouth, but there's still a stiff tannic structure, particularly on the finish.
Only one bottle of this left now, and I really must leave it alone for another 5 years at least to get an idea what this is like when mature.

  • Dense, dark, fairly mature deep black plum colour.
Lovely fresh blackberry and damson fruit on the nose, with tobacco and smoky, gently oaky vanilla in a support role.
Impressive palate: rich and ripe black fruit tempered by maturity. Very mouthfilling and deep, with some mouth-puckering tannins still, particularly towards the finish. Gamey and meaty, but then there's a lovely thread of fresh black berry fruit weaving its way through the mouth. Great length.

  • Very deep, dark black plum colour and notably opaque.
Rich black fruit on the nose, with quite a fresh blackberry streak, and touches of tobacco, prune and vanilla.
Rich and mouthfilling on the palate. Great concentration of gamey black fruit, with the same sort of fresh streak that you had on the nose. Big, meaty, hefty structure with marked tannins on the finish.

  • Deep, opaque dark black plum colour, even still with a hint of youth at the rim.
Rich, chocolatey plummy fruit on the nose, with touches of tobacco, and a lift of prunes in armagnac and woody herbs.
Impressive attack, with rich, ripe black fruit. Very mouthfilling, and very deep. Somehow manages to balance concentration and a touch of freshness to the fruit. Soft, integrating tannins, becoming very obvious on the finish.
This feels much younger than my last bottle of this wine, and certainly no rush to drink up.

  • A deep, dense, opaque black plum colour.
On the nose, there are dried figs, chocolates, fresh plums and prunes, fresh tobacco, and maybe a bit of a prunes in Armagnac feel.
Full and deep on the palate. There's obvious maturity here, but there's still a freshness and brightness to the fruit. There's a lovely richness an concentration on the palate. Still some pretty significant tannins on the finish, and there's a touch of alcoholic heat after. Immense length.

Impressive and in a nice place for drinking.

95% baga, vinified in lagares, aged in oak for around 18 months and bottled unfined, unfiltered. 13.5%
