  • Nothing sticks out, really, so a note is hard to concoct. Harmony and elegance are the main elements of my judgement. Calcarous notes, with honey and a trace of lime. In the aftertaste there's also notes of dried apricots - almost like a mature champagne. Good length, too. My last bottle, alas!

  • The wine offered minerals, gasoline, honey and apricot on the nose, and lots of honey, quince and minerals on the palate. Upon opening the wine was a little lean and tasted sweeter than expected from a “feinherb” Riesling, but it found balance with some air and put on a nice creaminess in the second and third third of the palate, with tangy acidity. The wine was enjoyable (my girlfriend and I finished the bottle), but lacked the depth of prior vintages like my favourite 04. It was surprisingly similar in profile to the 08s in thier current stages. Should keep and develop well for another few years.
