1st vintage of a Kumeu single vineyard wine. Slight whiff of unusual steely diesel, not particularly pleasant. Some felt hazelnut, brioche, butter scotch. Flavors fortunately completely different. Rich nutty ripe Meursalt like quality. Good density and complexity. Quite pretty on the palate. Impressive. Shows the reason why screwcap is the way to go.

Youthful appearance, honeyed fruit nose with just a suggestion of nut. In the mouth, lithe, poised. Fruit is present but not dominant, nor tropical, good acidity, maybe a smidge of vanilla and a clean line to a medium finish. Not much sign of age and plenty of balance to see this into old-ish age.
I’m trying not to rave too much about this but like its siblings this really could be a burg from a not bad address

No notes at the time, but my faith in this producer was confirmed. This had a really goo old-world profile to it that, combined with the increasing price of White Burgundy, makes me want to lay down a few more recent vintages.
Light gold. Delicious nose of peach, pineapple and (?) lemon. In the mouth a whoosh of pure citrus fruit, then apple and honey all kept in check by a cleansing acidity before the resolution of a slightly nutty, spicy apple crumble finish. Rich but not fat and quite long. Delicious

Wow. Surprisingly fresh and youthful. Hard to believe this is 11 years old. Classic Burgundy, like a puligny 1er cru. Lovely lemon and apple, nice pastry scents and a little floral. Hints of herbs and fennel later when warmer and with air. Went well with oven baked salmon and later Camembert. Excellent. If only Burgundy was this consistent.
