Tasted by JeremyQ on 11/19/2009 & rated 87 points: didnt enjoy it as much this time around. After been opened for a while, found the wine a little sour. Not bad. (363 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 10/13/2009 & rated 88 points: I thought this was actually pretty good. Nice purity of bright cherry fruit and pencil lead. Like an Oakville merlot cab/blend. Relatively light bodied, but enjoyable. (440 views)

Tasted by AndrewSica on 7/29/2009 & rated 90 points: N: black currant, plum notes with red fruit as well. Very nice nose.

t: I really enjoyed this wine for the price. Good effort. Nice currant/black/blue berry flavors with hints of red fruit. Excellent value for 11.98. Good tannins, nice long finish, not much oak, (1175 views)

Tasted by Capt M on 5/24/2009 & rated 82 points: Nice nose upon opening, but this wine degrades very quickly. Easy drinking, but somewhat disjointed, mainly caused by the high alcohol level. You can almost taste the glycerin under the nice plum, fruity notes, thus also a bit flabby and boring all throughout. (1887 views)
Tasted by gjport on 5/7/2009 & rated 82 points: Perhaps bottle variance, but the last two bottles we have had have been noticeably better than the first. So, will revise my score and notes. Much less heat, fuller body, and fair amount of drk fruit meets the nose and palate. Still, don't believe it is worth a price exceeding 10$. (2076 views)

Tasted by merryberry on 4/4/2009 & rated 87 points: Purple with lots of red highlights; kind of see-through. Very fruity nose, a little scary. Upon drinking, it was very nice and smooth. Balanced, not heavy red fruit. Enough acid, some tannins. Short to medium finish. Fine for the price point, I'd buy more with the right deal. (2296 views)
Tasted by Bored_Doe on 4/3/2009 & rated 83 points: With a name like THUNDER CUVEE I had hoped for some flavor explosion but I was just a little disappointed. This dark red has quite a fruity nose of mostly strawberry and cherry with some hot, floral notes lingering in the back. The tannins are a little too smooth which makes for a short finish but easy-drinking wine. Flavors include slightly sour blueberries and cherries with a hint of pepper. An enjoyable everyday table wine. (2316 views)

Tasted by sarciero on 3/20/2009 & rated 87 points: Nice, easy drinking red. Pretty good balance, smooth, worth the money. (2495 views)
Tasted by gjport on 3/12/2009 & rated 74 points: Subtle nose of dark fruit, bit hot on the nose. Rather hot, quite tannic on initial taste, with some fruit. Honestly, I have no idea what anyone found interesting in this wine. Found it to be a very simple, typical of a 6-8$ grocery store 'house' wine. There are dozens of wines for half the price that offer far more honest flavor and fullness than this cuvee. I have no doubt that this wine would not fare well against 2$C in blind tasting.  Tasted by JeremyQ on 12/31/2008 & rated 88 points: Had it on New years eve with Fillet Mignon for dinner. Initially upon opening, a very funky smell, thought it was corked for a moment. The mustiness blew away to reveal a very fruity nose. Nice dark red colour with a fruity nose of red and black fruit, very new world. On the taste, not overly fruity which I like (not a fruit bomb), alcohol under control with just enough tannins to give it a bite. Finish a little short but for the price, a great QPR. A very nice wine for the price. A cross between new world and old world. Definitely new world on the nose. a mix of old and new on the palate. (2697 views)
Tasted by skm95t on 12/28/2008 & rated 87 points: This is not an award winning wine, but it is worth the $15 price of admission. It has nice balance between its fruit and oak, tannins are integrated and is drinking well now (2675 views)
Tasted by jvanasco on 12/19/2008 & rated 80 points: eh. not very good. it's not bad, just mnot good. but there are wines that taste as-good, better for half the price. it should be priced at 7-10 not 15, tastes more like a chilean/argentenian wine than a napa. (2763 views)
Tasted by CooGAR on 12/16/2008 & rated 88 points: Smooth, very drinkable wine. Velvetly on the tongue. Dark red fruits dominate. (2864 views)
Tasted by JeremyQ on 12/5/2008 & rated 89 points: Was one of the wines I opened for my festive drinks (we ended up going through 14 different bottles). very solid wine, great QPR - I was a bit sceptical at first but to me it is a cross between a New World and Old World wine - has decent fruit but not too much and the oak is under control. Could put it down for a couple of years at least. Decent wine. (2731 views)

Tasted by GalvezGuy on 11/17/2008 & rated 87 points: Popped and poured. Nice nose of cherry, mocha, earth, red currant. On the palate black raspberry, sour cherry, blueberry. Soft short finish. Great daily drinker. Good value. (2747 views)

Wine Library TV, The Election Day Secret Pack - Episode #570 (11/4/2008)
(Thunder Napa Red) COLOR-dark; NOSE-classic Rose petals; some dark chocolate powder action; also an aerosol freshness; some Grenache-like strawberries; TASTE-nice tannic balance and roasted peppers from the Sangiovese; beautiful dark fruit of the Merlot and just enough oomph factor from the Syrah; nice Napa wine for $15 bones; nice chocolate covered cherries; vibrant, fruity; explosive; very happy with this; shockingly accessible, but will last 3-5 years; WS-99; GV-no score

From WineLibrary.com: 2004 Thunder Cuvee
This is an exciting project for Gary Vaynerchuk and all the Vayniacs out there as they all get the reference here. Gary put together a blend of 48% Merlot, 34% Sangiovese, 15% Syrah, and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and really thinks he found the balance and harmony he was looking for when he came up with this project. Unburdened by over-oaking, it features cascading waves of red and dark fruit, a velvety mouthful, and a lengthy finish.

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in almost 10 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
