I thought this was actually pretty good. Nice purity of bright cherry fruit and pencil lead. Like an Oakville merlot cab/blend. Relatively light bodied, but enjoyable.

N: black currant, plum notes with red fruit as well. Very nice nose.
t: I really enjoyed this wine for the price. Good effort. Nice currant/black/blue berry flavors with hints of red fruit. Excellent value for 11.98. Good tannins, nice long finish, not much oak,

Nice nose upon opening, but this wine degrades very quickly. Easy drinking, but somewhat disjointed, mainly caused by the high alcohol level. You can almost taste the glycerin under the nice plum, fruity notes, thus also a bit flabby and boring all throughout.

Perhaps bottle variance, but the last two bottles we have had have been noticeably better than the first. So, will revise my score and notes. Much less heat, fuller body, and fair amount of drk fruit meets the nose and palate. Still, don't believe it is worth a price exceeding 10$.

Purple with lots of red highlights; kind of see-through. Very fruity nose, a little scary. Upon drinking, it was very nice and smooth. Balanced, not heavy red fruit. Enough acid, some tannins. Short to medium finish. Fine for the price point, I'd buy more with the right deal.

With a name like THUNDER CUVEE I had hoped for some flavor explosion but I was just a little disappointed. This dark red has quite a fruity nose of mostly strawberry and cherry with some hot, floral notes lingering in the back. The tannins are a little too smooth which makes for a short finish but easy-drinking wine. Flavors include slightly sour blueberries and cherries with a hint of pepper. An enjoyable everyday table wine.

Subtle nose of dark fruit, bit hot on the nose. Rather hot, quite tannic on initial taste, with some fruit. Honestly, I have no idea what anyone found interesting in this wine. Found it to be a very simple, typical of a 6-8$ grocery store 'house' wine. There are dozens of wines for half the price that offer far more honest flavor and fullness than this cuvee. I have no doubt that this wine would not fare well against 2$C in blind tasting.

Had it on New years eve with Fillet Mignon for dinner. Initially upon opening, a very funky smell, thought it was corked for a moment. The mustiness blew away to reveal a very fruity nose. Nice dark red colour with a fruity nose of red and black fruit, very new world. On the taste, not overly fruity which I like (not a fruit bomb), alcohol under control with just enough tannins to give it a bite. Finish a little short but for the price, a great QPR. A very nice wine for the price. A cross between new world and old world. Definitely new world on the nose. a mix of old and new on the palate.

This is not an award winning wine, but it is worth the $15 price of admission. It has nice balance between its fruit and oak, tannins are integrated and is drinking well now

eh. not very good. it's not bad, just mnot good. but there are wines that taste as-good, better for half the price. it should be priced at 7-10 not 15, tastes more like a chilean/argentenian wine than a napa.

Was one of the wines I opened for my festive drinks (we ended up going through 14 different bottles). very solid wine, great QPR - I was a bit sceptical at first but to me it is a cross between a New World and Old World wine - has decent fruit but not too much and the oak is under control. Could put it down for a couple of years at least. Decent wine.

Popped and poured. Nice nose of cherry, mocha, earth, red currant. On the palate black raspberry, sour cherry, blueberry. Soft short finish. Great daily drinker. Good value.

Right on the borderline of being too much of everything--fruit, oak, alcohol. Walks right up to the edge of the cliff but doesn't fall off. Undeniably tasty, and a good value for the price.

SMELL: Lots of fruit and hints of chocolate and dust. TASTE: Bottle sat open for four hours. Very, very bitter on the first couple of tastes. Lots of texture. Have never had a wine before with this much texture. Felt like there was a lot of dry flour in my mouth with the wine. Very dry, but the dryness evened out after about ten minutes. After initial tasting, had with pasta bake and it smoothed out very nicely. Saved half a bottle and will be interested to see how it developed overnight.

Nice blueberry over red current nose. Nice red raspberry, current, blueberry upfront, light to medium tannins, medium acidity. A little heat on the end, but not over-powering the plum and blueberry finish. Moderate length. Even after an hour, the profile is holding steady
