Summer Grillin' (Los Gatos, California): Half bottle. Amber. Soaring aromas of acacia honey, peach, and apricot. Sweet, pure, high toned fruit, superb leavening acidity. This is my second spectacular experience with this in slightly over a year. Miraculous dessert wine.

Late Summer French Wine Dinner (Los Gatos, California): Deep golden amber color. Fantastic, high pitched scents of apricot, honey, and spice. Lush and sweet but not syrupy since it is carried by a deep core of acidity. Just delicious-love that spiciness. No matter that like many Alsatian wines this sweet, the varietal characteristics are blurred. A great dessert wine and one of the best balanced Zind Humbrecht wines I’ve ever drunk. No telling how long it could last.

Half bottle. Full amber color. Forthcoming nose of honey, brown sugar, apricot, and orange. Full but not syrupy. Quite sweet but great purity, secondary high tones, and excellent acidity to keep it fresh. Really superb dessert wine that is not overdone in the least.

Just beautiful and no shame to drink now. Think apricots and botritis (sp).
