  • Wonderful Santa Barbara pinot. I can't believe that this is still drinking so well. Needs 30-45 minutes to open up. Very Pinot-like earthy elements. Did not detect heat or much cherry influence. Very balanced, with a very good mid-palate and finish. There is a lot going on here and everything about this wine says "have a great time".

  • Drinking well, but should go another several years at least. Showing a more earthy, herby side with some mushroomy funk. Fresh, med/high acidity on palate. Red fruits on the palate, though floral aromas are there as well. Mid-weight, nice finish showing some well-integrated oak. Thoroughly balanced and elegant. Cola flavor and a bit of heat do stick out a bit at times, but a minor nit on that. Needed about 30 minutes to open up with decant.

  • This opened with some very interesting notes of damp forest floor and sauteed ‘shrooms, fresh-picked cherry, mom’s herb and spice rack next to the sink, and a mysterious and penetrating smell I still can’t put my finger on. The Roessler was quite effusive on the palate, but not exactly focused. It continued its raspy expression of the spice rack on the palate, and even chimed in with notes of cedar and clove, buried in the lingering notes of red fruit that make cooler-climate Pinot so deelish. I’d love to revisit this in one to two year’s time.

  • Palate: earthy tones, balanced fruits but highly pronounced tannins. this is not a soft pinot noir. coffee and caramel hints on a long finish

  • Absolutely recommend, great dinner wine. Give it a little time to open up, nice bouquet, layers of fruit, earthy, nice mouth feel.
