Deep crimson color. The bouquet shows cassis, black cherry, plum and lavender. Medium-bodied and youthful with some tannin to integrate, though it is certainly drinkable & pleasurable. Flavors of mineral, black fruit and licorice with hints of spice and vanilla on the finish. Tannins have a slightly chalky feel to them. 89-90 pts.

Lovely nose of blackberry preserves, leather and dusty earth. Still a little tart and tannic on the palate - much better balanced with foos than without. I think a little more age to smooth a few rough edges would be good.

Winemakers you know (Mike G. visits) (Mike Posk's): A few people commented about this wine, never having had it before and were shocked it is under $20. A great QPR. Sandalwood and cassis on the nose. A bit oaky on the palate for my tastes, but sweet cassis fruit should all come into balance in a few years. Solid and based on prior vintages, this should be at peak in a few years.

Aromas of finger nail polish remover, cherries, acidity and tannins are balanced, it went quite well with spaghetti and meatballs. Not many cabs can do that.

Rich, juicy prune from top to bottom, good acidity throughout. Tosses off this powerful anise-and-cinnamon note at the end.
